President William Ruto Concludes European Tour, Urges Kenyans to Support Government Reforms

President William Ruto has concluded his visit to Finland, Norway, and Belgium by urging Kenyans to support and invest in the reforms being implemented by the government back home.

Speaking to Kenyans living in the Nordic region in Helsinki, Finland, the President stated that Kenya continues to make developmental strides despite a different perception portrayed by some sections of the media. He noted that the government is continuously improving housing in Nairobi by constructing modern houses to replace informal settlements.

The President emphasized that his visit to these nations will strengthen economic cooperation and open up more opportunities for Kenyans:

In Norway discussions focused on partnerships to develop Kenya’s maritime sector (the blue economy) and learning from Norway’s management of its sovereign wealth fund.

In Finland the focus was on promoting cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital innovation

President Ruto also assured the diaspora that the government will consider the request made by Kenyans living in the Nordic region to establish an embassy in either Norway or Finland to improve consular services.

During the visit, President Ruto and Finnish President Alexander Stubb attended a business forum aimed at strengthening partnerships between Kenyan and Finnish tech companies.

The two leaders also participated in the Kultaranta Talks, where President Ruto articulated Kenya’s stance on various global issues, making him the first African head of state to participate in the prestigious forum.
