LEVERKUSEN — Bayer Leverkusen have secured one of the most highly anticipated signatures in German football, as Hertha BSC midfielder Kennet Eichhorn has officially completed his medical ahead of a move to the BayArena.

The Werkself triggered a €9 million release clause to pry the 16-year-old defensive midfielder away from Berlin. Despite intense interest from several high-profile English and German clubs—including concrete interest from Premier League giants Liverpool—Eichhorn chose to commit his long-term future to the project at Leverkusen.

The teenage sensation, who broke multiple records last season as the youngest-ever debutant in 2.
