Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has firmly dismissed claims alleging that President William Ruto intends to manipulate or rig the 2027 General Election to secure his second term in office.
Speaking during a Sunday service in Kapsengere, Nandi County, Mudavadi cautioned political figures against dragging the President’s name into speculative claims that the upcoming polls will lack transparency, fairness, or credibility.
“The President and his party are not planning to rig the elections. President Ruto is not going to use shortcuts to win; his victory will come strictly from the will of the people, democratically and constitutionally.”
Mudavadi urged politicians across the political divide—including members of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), ODM, and the wider opposition—to stop spreading sensational allegations regarding the electoral process. He noted that voters will judge the administration based on its development track record and policy delivery.
Emphasizing the economic and social costs of prolonged post-election litigation, the Prime CS reiterated his call for a clean, decisive victory in 2027 that will leave no room for election petitions.
Mudavadi expressed confidence that grassroots campaigns under the broad-based governance framework are yielding positive results, positioning President Ruto for a legitimate, overwhelming mandate.
The Prime CS warned against “cheap politics” designed to stir public emotions and trigger political unrest, urging all leaders to preserve national stability and respect democratic institutions.
Mudavadi reassured the country that the government remains committed to upholding the rule of law, protecting democratic integrity, and allowing the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to run a credible election.
