Osotsi endorses Sifuna as Linda Mwananchi’s sole 2027 presidential candidate

Date:

Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has declared Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the official presidential flag bearer for the Linda Mwananchi movement ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a high-profile Linda Mwananchi tour in Nairobi—which culminated in a rally at Jacaranda Grounds—Osotsi reaffirmed the movement’s resolve to rally behind Sifuna as the formidable opposition candidate to challenge President William Ruto.

“All of us have said that our president is Edwin Watenya Sifuna,” Senator Osotsi stated while addressing supporters, emphasizing that the movement stands united behind one candidate.

Osotsi’s endorsement reinforced a shared agreement among key figures within the Linda Mwananchi brigade to consolidate the opposition vote behind Sifuna.

The declaration came alongside assurances from Siaya Governor James Orengo, who previously expressed interest in the ticket but pledged to hold talks with Sifuna to ensure a single opposition candidate is presented.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya also voiced strong backing for Sifuna’s presidential bid during the Nairobi mobilization.

Accepting the endorsement, Sifuna outlined core campaign pledges, criticizing the current administration’s economic policies, affordable housing execution, and revenue-sharing mechanisms with counties.

The Linda Mwananchi movement continues to intensify its nationwide tours as it structures its political platform for the upcoming general election.
