President William Ruto has reassured the Muslim community in Kenya that his administration remains committed to fulfilling its promises by initiating and implementing various projects aimed at improving their welfare.
Speaking during a meeting with Sheikhs and Muslim leaders at State House, Nairobi, President Ruto stated that the government has eliminated the discrimination previously experienced in obtaining national identity cards.
Additionally, he directed the Ministry of Education to formulate a policy to integrate Madrasa and Duksi learning into the national education curriculum.
The President also announced that the government has revived the Waqf Commission to protect and manage assets and investments belonging to the Muslim community.
Furthermore, he noted an increase in the inclusion of Muslims in leadership positions and government employment, adding that the government plans to recruit teachers to serve in their native areas.
On their part, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale praised the government for advancing affordable housing projects, road infrastructure, and water initiatives distributed equitably across the country.
Together, they urged the community to register as voters and support President William Ruto’s bid for a second term in the upcoming elections.
