EPRA holds Fuel prices constant for September–October pricing cycle

Date:

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has retained maximum retail prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene in its latest monthly review.

The decision offers steady relief to motorists and households across the country for the new pricing cycle running from September 15 to October 14, 2026.

The regulator maintained local pump prices despite shifts in landed import costs, including a drop in average landed costs for Super Petrol alongside spikes in international prices for imported Diesel and Kerosene.

The pricing formula factored in a stable foreign exchange rate, with the US Dollar trading at an average benchmark of KSh 129.72 during the review period.

In coastal towns like Mombasa, maximum retail prices remain lower due to proximity to the import terminal, keeping Super Petrol at KSh 214.03, Diesel at KSh 217.86, and Kerosene at KSh 191.38.

The retained maximum prices take effect at midnight and are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) and applicable statutory levies.
