Residents urged to invest as new agricultural college promises economic boost in Tigania

Residents of Tigania West Constituency have been urged to invest in housing and related businesses ahead of the opening of the Kenya School of Agriculture (KSA), with the institution expected to create new economic opportunities in the area.

Agriculture Principal Secretary Kipronoh Ronoh made the call during an inspection tour of ongoing development projects in Tigania West, where he confirmed that the construction of the Kenya School of Agriculture at Kamutune is expected to be completed by December this year.

Ronoh said the institution is expected to attract students, lecturers and support staff, creating demand for housing, transport, food services and other businesses.

“We encourage local residents to invest in accommodation facilities and other enterprises that will support the institution once it becomes operational,” he said.

The Principal Secretary noted that the government has intensified efforts to fast-track the completion of the college as part of broader plans to strengthen agricultural training and improve productivity.

He also inspected the construction of agricultural production centres in Urru and Ngundune, describing them as key investments in the country’s agricultural value chain.

Ronoh reiterated the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to implementing development projects and fulfilling its pledges to wananchi through accelerated infrastructure development.

Once operational, the Kenya School of Agriculture is expected to equip graduates with advanced agricultural skills and strengthen agricultural extension services, benefiting not only Tigania West but also other parts of the country.

The institution is also projected to stimulate economic activity in the region by creating employment opportunities and increasing demand for goods and services.
