BARINGO— The 2025/26 FKF Baringo County League title race has been blown wide open after Mwachon FC stunned leaders Delta FC 3-2 in the weekend’s biggest fixture.
The win handed Delta their first defeat of the season and cut Mwachon’s deficit at the top to just four points.
Delta FC still lead on 33 points from 14 matches, with 11 wins. But Mwachon are now breathing down their necks in second on 29 points from 14 games, with several matches left in the second leg.
The chasing pack also tightened. Kirobon FC moved third on 28 points from 15 matches, overtaking Kapropita FC who dropped to fourth on 27 points from 14. Sinonin FC hold fifth on 26 points from 14.
The battle for the top six is just as fierce. Arama FC climbed to sixth on 24 points from 15 games, level with seventh-placed Cheberen FC but ahead on goal difference. Magoi FC are eighth on 20 points.
At the bottom, Ndambul FC boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 win over Kipkaber FC. Ndambul moved to 11th on 14 points from 14 matches, while Kipkaber slipped to 12th on 13 points from 15.
Ravine Homeboys are 13th on 13 points, Kiplaoe 14th on 11, and Ravine SC bottom on 6 points.
With the second leg underway, every point now matters. Delta remain favorites, but Mwachon’s statement win has made this a genuine two-horse race. Clubs in mid-table are also fighting for promotion slots and pride.
Fans across Baringo can expect another decisive weekend next, where any slip by Delta could flip the title race on its head.
