Late Drama: Iran Settle for 2-2 Draw Against New Zealand

The recent match between Iran and New Zealand ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Los Angeles Stadium.

New Zealand forward Elijah Just scored twice to put the All Whites ahead twice (7′, 54′). However, Iran fought back tenaciously both times, finding equalizers through Ramin Rezaeian in the 31st minute and Mohammad Mohebi in the 63rd minute to ensure the points were shared in Group G.

In one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history, tournament debutants Cape Verde held the reigning European champions, Spain, to a historic 0-0 draw in Atlanta.

The hero of the match was Cape Verde’s 40-year-old veteran goalkeeper, Vozinha, who captured the hearts of fans worldwide by making 7 crucial saves to deny La Roja. Following his sensational performance against global stars like Pedri and Lamine Yamal, Vozinha went viral, gaining over 4 million followers online shortly after the final whistle.
