FC Barcelona kicked off their 2026–27 La Liga campaign in dominant fashion, sweeping aside Elche CF 5-0 at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero. Braces from Raphinha and substitute Fermín López, alongside strong debuts from new signings Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, sealed a comfortable opening-day win for Hansi Flick’s side.
Barcelona took control early after Raphinha drew a foul inside the box from Víctor Chust and calmly converted the resulting spot-kick in the 14th minute. Just before halftime, a quick counterattack orchestrated by Lamine Yamal and Raphinha set up summer signing Karim Adeyemi to side-foot home his debut La Liga goal.
The second half belonged to substitute Anthony Gordon, who made an immediate impact off the bench. The English winger teed up Raphinha for his second of the night in the 67th minute, before unselfishly laying off a pass four minutes later for Fermín López to tap into an open net. López wrapped up the scoreline in the 79th minute with an impressive solo spin and turn on the edge of the area.
