Ten-Man Man City stun Old Trafford as Haaland sinks United in derby

Date:

MANCHESTER, UK — Ten-man Manchester City produced a heroic defensive performance to secure a dramatic 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Despite playing with ten men for over an hour following Phil Foden’s early red card, Erling Haaland’s second-half strike proved decisive, maintaining City’s flawless start to the Premier League campaign.

The derby exploded into life when Phil Foden was shown a straight red card following a VAR review for kicking out at United captain Bruno Fernandes.

The result keeps Manchester City tied at the top of the table with a perfect 12 points, while Manchester United remain stuck in midfield after taking just four points from their opening four matches.
