Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has emphasized that Kenya’s long-term economic growth hinges on strategic infrastructure investment and active civic participation, declaring that great nations are built where infrastructure, opportunity, and the voice of the people converge.
Speaking in Amagoro following a warm and enthusiastic reception from local residents, Mudavadi highlighted Busia County’s critical strategic positioning as Kenya’s western gateway to regional commerce and cross-border trade.
He pointed to the planned dualling of the Mau Summit–Malaba Highway as a transformative project that will overhaul the region’s transport network and unlock massive commercial potential.
“Busia is Kenya’s western gateway to regional trade, and with the dualling of the Mau Summit–Malaba Highway, we are laying the foundation for faster trade, increased investment, job creation and greater economic opportunities for generations to come,” Mudavadi stated.
Beyond economic development, the Prime Cabinet Secretary made a strong pitch for democratic participation as political activity across the country gathers momentum, urging citizens to take charge of their governance through the ballot.
“As we build this future, I encourage every eligible citizen to register as a voter and make their voice count. Democracy is strongest when every Kenyan participates in shaping the country’s future,” he emphasized.
Expressing deep appreciation to the residents of Teso North for their hospitality, Mudavadi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with local communities to drive equitable development across the region.
