Vinícius Júnior contract renewal stall

Date:

Negotiations between Real Madrid and Brazilian star forward Vinícius Júnior regarding a long-term contract extension have encountered a significant stalemate due to differing salary valuations.

Vinícius Júnior earns an estimated €10M–€15M net per year under his current contract, which runs through June 2027.

Representatives for the 26-year-old forward are reportedly seeking a wage packet between €20M and €30M net annually (inclusive of performance bonuses and potential sign-on structures) to align his earnings closer to top earners like Kylian Mbappé.

The club management, led by Florentino Pérez, has reportedly tabled an offer around €20M net per season without extra renewal premiums.

Real Madrid management remains adamant about maintaining internal wage balance. The board is cautious about creating financial precedents that exceed their structured wage limits.

With two seasons remaining on his current deal, Real Madrid aims to secure his future early to prevent entering the final year of his contract without an agreement.

Despite the current financial gap, both parties maintain a strong working relationship and prefer to reach an extension agreement.
