Three Members of Parliament from Turkana County have been ranked among the region’s top-performing legislators in the latest Infotrak 2026 Elected Leaders Performance Survey. In the same poll, Turkana County Woman Representative Hon. Cecilia Asinyen earned national recognition after being ranked 6th among all Woman Representatives in Kenya during a colorful release event in Nairobi on July 1, 2026.
According to the survey, Loima MP Hon. Protus Akuja emerged as Turkana’s best-performing Member of Parliament, securing an impressive approval rating of 66 percent. He was followed closely by Turkana West MP Hon. Daniel Epuyo Nanok, CBS, who scored 65 percent, while Turkana East MP Hon. Nicholas Ngikolong secured third place locally with a strong 62 percent approval rating.
The survey also highly recognized Hon. Cecilia Asinyen. The Turkana County Woman Representative’s 6th-place national ranking among Kenya’s 47 Woman Representatives underscores her growing profile and impactful legislative track record on the national stage.
On the national front, Embakasi East MP Hon. Babu Owino topped the country’s rankings with a commanding 80 percent approval rating. Kabuchai MP Hon. Joseph Kalasinga came second at 78 percent, while Kiharu MP Hon. Ndindi Nyoro and Taveta MP Hon. John Bwire tied for third place, each scoring 76 percent.
The Infotrak 2026 Elected Leaders Performance Survey evaluates elected leaders based on key grassroot indicators. These include leadership quality, accessibility, representation, development record, accountability, and overall service delivery. The latest rankings offer a comprehensive snapshot of public perception across the country and are heavily expected to shape political conversations as Kenya moves closer to the 2027 General Election.
