MOYALE — Police in Moyale, Marsabit County have launched a manhunt for a suspect after a 30-year-old man was killed by a stone from a mining blast.
Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimayo confirmed Hassan Guyo died in Nasole area, Dabel Location, after a stone believed to have been propelled by an explosive detonated at a mining site about 200 metres away struck him on the head.
Guyo was asleep inside his makeshift nylon-walled house at around 7.30am when he sustained a fatal head injury and died on the spot.
Police said a suspect has been identified but is at large as investigations continue.
The scene was processed and the body moved to Moyale Sub-County Hospital mortuary.
