MP Peter Salasya Urges Politicians to Seek God After Rhema Feast Experience

Date:

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has issued a stern call to his fellow politicians, urging them to make time for spiritual reflection and repentance to avoid straying from their faith while serving in public office.

Speaking in a video posted to his social media following his attendance at the ongoing 2026 Rhema Feast at Uhuru Park, the outspoken lawmaker cautioned that the high-pressure nature of political life exposes leaders to continuous temptation.

“In politics, if you do not repent every time, you can go to hell for free, or you sin against God for free, and He hates you for free. That is why I will continue seeking Him any moment I get an opportunity,”

The MP admitted that despite not being deeply involved in church activities, participating in worship at the event left a profound impact. “There is nothing that humbles me like worship and being in the presence of God,”

Salasya pointed to a sermon by Bishop JB Masinde on spiritual growth, noting that politicians often get consumed by physical circumstances and need reminders to deepen their faith.

The lawmaker praised Reverend Julian Kyula, founder of Rhema Feast, for organizing the five-day gathering aimed at uniting Christians across different backgrounds.

Rhema Feast, an annual non-denominational gathering running under the theme “Come, Let Us Rebuild,” brings together thousands of worshippers for prayer, teaching, and spiritual renewal. Salasya’s remarks add a prominent political voice to the annual event, highlighting the challenge leaders face in balancing public duty with personal faith.
