Former Fafi Member of Parliament Abdikarim Osman has urged residents of Fafi and the North Eastern region to support President William Ruto for a second term, citing various development projects and reforms implemented by the Kenya Kwanza government.
Osman praised projects including the Wajir Airport, the Garissa–Tana Bridge, the reopening of the Garissa passport office, and the elimination of the vetting process for national ID applications, stating that these measures have improved the lives of the region’s residents.
However, the current Fafi MP, Salah Yakub, has stated that support for the President will depend on the fulfillment of development promises made to the residents. Yakub has urged the government to expedite key projects, including roads, education, and healthcare services.
The differing positions of the two leaders reflect the ongoing debate in North Eastern Kenya regarding the development achievements of President Ruto’s administration and whether they are sufficient to justify supporting him for a second term.
