MARSABIT — A middle-aged man was found dead inside his house in Gilabaji village, Sagante Jaldesa Location, Marsabit County.
The body of the deceased, a farmhand, was discovered on the floor at around 10.30am Thursday.
Sagante Jaldesa Sub-County Police Commander Hillary Kawaka confirmed the incident, saying the man was found by a friend who had visited him.
The friend alerted a neighbour, who informed the deceased’s employer, who then reported the matter at Marsabit Police Station.
Officers from Sagante Police Post and DCI officers from Marsabit Central visited the scene and found the body lying in a pool of blood from the nose and mouth.
The employer and neighbours told police the deceased had a persistent severe cough and had been advised to seek hospital treatment.
Police have launched investigations to establish the cause of death. A mobile phone found at the scene was kept as an exhibit.
Academic certificates indicating the man was a university graduate with First Class Honours were also recovered and preserved.
The body was moved to Marsabit County Referral Hospital mortuary pending post-mortem.
